About Us

Roshida is an international center for children's drawing analysis. The center was established to provide professionals and parents, from all over the world, with updated and comprehensive knowledge about children's drawings. Our experts have created an advanced learning center, which is based on video lessons, e-books, articles, assessment tests and case study reviews to enable everyone to learn about this fascinating subject. For those who seek professional help, based on individual interpretation of their child's drawings, we offer an expert review of the drawings and a written summary about his personality, difficulties and strengths.

Roshida was born out of wide experience in professional counseling to parents in various topics related to their children, using the children's drawings as the projective tool. Analysis of children's drawings sheds light on their current status – mental, social and cognitive – within a short period of time, at low cost and without a face-to-face meeting that is often distressful for children.

The name Roshida is an acronym combining the names of three children who are dear to us. Just like this name, children's drawings may appear meaningless at first. Only after getting to know them better do you realize how many hidden meanings they have...

Roshida's experts:

Michal Wimmer, M.A

Michal is an art therapist and a well-known international expert on children's drawings analysis. She has published two books in this field: Drawings can Speak and The Complete Guide to Children's Drawings Analysis. She has over 15 years of experience supporting families with children (aged 2-18) with emotional and social difficulties using their drawings. Michal is also the founder of an advanced studies program, introducing social workers, psychologists and art therapists, as well as elementary and preschool teachers to the world of children's drawings analysis. The program includes a two-year graduate study on children's drawings analysis, based on practical exercises, various psychological theories and parental guidance.

A popular speaker, Michal has given over 200 workshops and keynotes about children's drawings analysis. She is often interviewed in TV shows, magazines and newspapers for insights about parenting through children's drawings. Michal manages a national forum about children's drawings analysis, providing parental guidance based on drawings. She is part of a "Super Nanny" team of experts, which specializes in supporting families with complex parental issues. Finally, she also provides written expertise to courts of law, based on analysis of children's drawings, mainly in the context of family abuse and children at risk.

Michal runs a private clinic for treating children, adolescents and adults. She also works as an art therapist in psychiatric hospitals and mental health clinics. Recently, she has founded the Roshida website. Her therapeutic strategy is deeply influenced by the classic psychoanalytic approaches of Sigmund Freud and Jacques Lacan. Michal is married with three children.

My credo:
"When working with families, it is essential to provide parents with as many tools and methods as possible to enable them to strengthen their children and thus improve the general atmosphere at home. Getting the parents to be better aware of their child's condition using his drawings is about 70% of the way to success. I strongly believe that through drawings it is possible to reveal the source of children's emotional difficulties, as well as the optimal solution ".

My credo:
"When working with families, I think it is vital to reassure the parents, using their children's drawings, that if they listen attentively to their children, they will be able to reveal their children's hidden sources of power. In such cases it takes little effort and support to enable both children and parents to flourish and achieve their true potential."

My credo:
"I believe in a child's ability to make the most of his potential. With attunement and sensitivity to the child's needs and difficulties, we will be able to reach that goal. In my drawing analysis work with children, I adhere to three golden rules for successful development: attunement, patience and empathy"

To summarize, analysis of your child's drawings will allow you to get to know him better, understand his inner world, the difficulties he is experiencing and his specific mental status. You will be able to learn about your child and receive professional tools, based on your child's character and status, to help him cope with difficulties.

The up-to-date status of your child's personality, as reflected by the analysis of his drawings, covers many aspects of his character – emotional, social, and cognitive and also his talents. Furthermore, in the online lessons and e-books we will provide you with solutions suitable to the difficulties articulated in the drawings. We will also detail our recommendations for appropriate extracurricular activities and when required, the most effective therapeutic approach.

We at Roshida are intent on promoting drawing analysis training, in order to provide parents and professionals with an opportunity to acquire knowledge and expertise. Our tools and methods are based on extensive academic research and best-practice methodologies. Learning in our institute will enable you to analyze children's inner world by observing their drawings. This is a wonderful chance to get to know the world from a different perspective – through a child's eyes.

We all share love for children and true willingness to help parents get to know their children's inner world. We also share the approach that parents should acquire professional drawing analysis tools that will help them help their children.
